Value Bacon

I went to the local grocery store and for some reason they had very weird sales in every department. The produce section was full of some of the most unusual tropical fruits that I've ever seen. Some of which I wasn't even sure how you could even begin to eat.
My favorite was the display of Value Bacon. I like how they specify that it's good for recipes, as if other bacon is too stuck up to cooperate.
I also bought a gallon of hand soap for $2. There was a skeptical old man asking everyone what was wrong with it. I decided to be brave. My skin hasn't melted off yet, so it's safe to say it was a good deal.
For the record, the value bacon was indistinguishable from regular bacon. I used it in a recipe, for mac and cheese.

Jackalope Update

I'm assembling my herd of jackalopes this week. I made and found some pretty awesome accessories for this batch. How cute are these nerd glasses? They were a serendipitous find.
Mr and Mrs Jackalope are just too cute for words. I am so pleased with how this turned out.

Featured Item of the Day

Faux Taxidermy, Hot Pink Jackalope
Rachel O's Jackalopes are each a unique work of art. I crochet each one without a pattern so every sweet bunny face is different and has their own personality.

This jackalope has been stuffed and mounted to a wood plaque measuring approx 5x7 inches. There is a hole drilled in the back, so you can hang it with a single nail (not included).
Antlers are hand sculpted from polymer clay.

Accessories and ear insides have been firmly attached with glue, but this is an art object, not a toy.

Fall Bowtique

Come see me this Saturday at the Saint Wenceslaus Fall Bowtique! I've never done this show before, but it's supposed to be HUGE! I try to do one show every year that's outside my "comfort zone" and this is it.
I don't know if they're going to be into Jackalopes, but I'm whipping up a batch today just in case. I'll also have all my fabric button jewelry as well as some other goodies.

Featured Item of the Day

An Apple a Day, Fabric Button Badge Set
An apple button a day may not keep the doctor away. But these fun button badges will help an ailing wardrobe.

Complete with sturdy tie tack backs, these buttons are sure to please. Wear them on jackets or backpacks.

Buttons measure just under 1 inch across each.

You will receive full apple and one eaten apple pin as shown in the first photo. The second photo is for size reference only, and is part of another listing.
